the challenge
We were contacted by Nottingham City Council, who wanted some promotional film content producing in order to showcase the benefits of Nottingham Community Transport’s new 58 electric buses that had been introduced over 18 routes. This film was part of a series of films we produced for Nottingham City Council for there ‘Nottingham Clean Air Ambition project’.
our approach
We wanted to capture Nottingham Community Transport’s new fleet of buses in a variety of engaging and dynamic ways, to really showcase how innovative and beneficial they were for the environment, and consulted with Nottingham City Council early to lay the groundwork for how we would do this. Through a follow up meeting we discussed project details, such as key themes, the required film duration and details surrounding the new fleet of electric buses.
We came to the conclusion that we would produce a graphic heavy standard format film, so that viewers could be presented with engaging facts about the new electric buses which were overlaid onto video footage showing the impeccable new fleet in action. We also decided to produce a 360 film, shot from the interior of one of the buses, which showed the bus making its journey through various stops around Nottinghamshire from a 360 perspective. We felt this film format could bring a different and dynamic perspective to the viewer, and would be an alternative, exciting way to showcase the new buses. Despite the range of services provided during this project, only a 2 person film crew was required for a 2 day period to attain all the footage needed.
the result
Nottingham City Council received two promotional films from us. One of these utilised a standard video format while the other utilised a 360 video format. Much to our delight, the final films were received were met with an exceptional response, and Nottingham City Council have since used these films for promotional purposes internally and externally.
“The Electric Bus video produced by Inside Out has really helped us to communicate the benefits of this use of this technology in Public Transport systems to a wide audience locally, nationally and internationally. The video was produced to brief, time and budget and the flexibility afforded during both the commissioning and editing stage meant that we were able to get the video that we wanted.”
