the challenge
We were contacted by worldwide carbonated soft drink supplier Cott Beverages, who required a site-wide access control upgrade for their door entry equipment over their entire Kegworth site in Derbyshire, UK. They required an access control system to be fitted to every external door in order to restrict access into various areas of their factory, so that only employees with the correct fob/card could enter, and abided by restrictions of their clients which include major brands like Tesco.
our approach
We consulted with Cotts Beverages early in the project to understand the exact needs for the access control technology that they required and from here made a decision of what equipment to implement as part of our access control upgrade. As a certified installer of Paxton technology, we used their cutting edge NET2 Entry access control panels, as they were highly compatible with roller shutters and rapid doors. We worked alongside Cott Beverages IT team to connect all access panels across the companies own LAN. Staff members were handed their own individual fobs, which gave them permission to enter areas in the facility that they needed access to. Machinery such as fork lift trucks were also provided with long range fobs.
the result
The handover period was delivered on time and within budget. The access control technology installed as part of the access control upgrade was met with great feedback from Cott Beverages and since this project they have since requested us to install more Access Control technology.
